LABOUR’S CARE PROMISE INCLUDES £2.8BN FOR HOME CARE
The Labour party has announced that it will spend over £2.8 billion on 160,000 people awaiting care. They have also pledged to train staff working in the sector, to the tune of £350 million. This will enable staff to look after those with more complex care needs better. The £2.8 billion will be spent on home care packages for people living with dementia and those that are vulnerable.
MAN WITH PARKINSONS REUNITED WITH WOMAN THAT HELPED
A gentleman named David Murray, 75, was travelling on an early evening train from London to his home town in Cardiff, when his Parkinsons medication failed to take over. As his train arrived at the station, he stood up, but was unable to move. He was then helped off the train by a stranger and was able to meet his wife at the station. His Twitter plea to thank the stranger went viral and they were reunited.
FOUR SEASONS HEALTH CARE GOES INTO ADMINISTRATION
One of the country’s largest care home groups has filed for administration, reports from Tuesday show. The BBC reports that Four Seasons employs over 20,000 staff and care for 17,000 clients. It’s 320 care homes have been struggling for years, as it has fought to restructure it’s £500 million worth of debt. They repeatedly warned about their struggles and that they were concerned about their long-term stability.

Should homeowners downsize to pay for their care?
Should wealthier homeowners be asked to contribute up to £30,000 to help fund their care plan? In a new proposal, people could also be encouraged to downsize or release equity in their homes to help with funding.

Louis Tomlinson helps 83 yr old man complete bucket list
Louis Tomlinson, formerly of One Direction, has featured 83 year old Richard as the focal point in his new video. Richard lost his wife to Dementia in 2016 and was given the chance to complete his bucket list with Louis.
