Ever heard the term IOT? It stands for the Internet Of Things and is thought to be the next big thing in the world of technology. Simply put, it’s a network of objects powered by or connected to the internet, enabling the collection and tracking of data. It sits aside form normal mobile and tablet devices and us being used to revolutionise many different industries.
NORTH FACE APOLOGISES FOR WIKIPEDIA MANIPULATION
Clothing brand North Face has been under fire recently and apologised, as it has admitted to swapping out photographs on Wikipedia. The photos, specifically of remote locations, were swapped out for pictures featuring the models wearing North Face apparel. They have been criticised for boasting about how the ‘hack’ has boosted their SEO and cost nothing
WHAT DOES THE GOOGLE BLOCK MEAN FOR HUAWEI?
Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has been in the news almost every single day in recent weeks. First it was the build of the 5G network, then it was blocked from the Android platform by Google, then it lost it’s SD, WIFI and Bluetooth membership. But what does this all mean for users? If Google has blocked Huawei from their platform, will users be able to use their handsets in the same way?
5G launched in the UK
EE’s 5G network has gone live in 6 cities in the UK as of this week. Cities London, Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester are the first to receive 5G, with more cities to follow later on in the year. 7 years after the launch of 4G in the UK, EE is the first to finally begin it’s roll out across major cities.
